Ida Alma Raber

June 8, 1932 - June 11, 2022

We are saddened to announce the passing of Ida Raber of Kelowna on June 11, 2022 at the age of 90.

Ida was born in Panoka, Alberta on June 8, 1932. In her younger years she loved being with family, church, and choir. She met Phil and they moved to Vernon in 1955. She worked at Northend Drive-in then at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. She would come home to a house at the farm with many children and animals. They moved to Kelowna in 1975 and she started working at Kelowna General Hospital. Ida then retired and enjoyed travelling, cooking, and camping.

Due to her health condition, Ida moved into Mountainview Village Care Facility in 2016 as she lived the rest of her years here. Thank you to all the nurses and care-aids at Mountainview for all the care, love, and support given to her all these years.

Ida was predeceased by her husband Phil Raber who were together for 66 years. Ida will be lovely remembered by Marlene Reilly (Mike), Dwayne Williams (Marlene), Darrell Williams (Deb), Ken Williams (Cindy), Phylliss Ohashi (Lawrence), Bev Simonin (Stan), Betty Kam (Randy), and all the grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Please join us at First Memorial Funeral Services 1211 Sutherland Ave, on Friday June 17, 2022 for a memorial service. For family and friends wishing to pay their respects, viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 with the service starting at 11:00. Please join the family following the service in the tea room to share memories of Ida.
