Jeanne was born on September 11, 1927 in Vancouver, BC to parents James P & Isabella Moir. In 1930, the family welcomed a sister for Jeanne, Audrey (Fabri).
Jeanne grew up in the Langara area of 49th Avenue in South Vancouver. Attending John Oliver High School where she met her sweetheart & future husband Arild Dalsvaag. Jeanne & Arild married on December 17, 1948 and enjoyed 51 years together.
Building family homes on 46th Avenue in Vancouver and later on Southwood Street in Burnaby where they raised their three children, Jan Marie, Allan & Kathy. Hosting many parties and family celebrations was a highlight of their times at home. Eventually Jeanne and Arild built their retirement home on the waterfront in Gibsons, BC. Many years of hard work led to once again enjoying a beautiful home and hosting friends and family.
Jeanne and Arild enjoyed many trips throughout Canada, California, Scotland and Norway where they visited family and friends. Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania and a trip to China with daughter Kathy.
Shortly after Arild’s passing, Jeanne moved to Kelowna to be closer to family. Owning a home in the Sandstone Gated Community, a condo in Hawthorne Park Retirement complex then moving to Lakeshore Retirement Residence. Jeanne lived a very independent life, zip lining at age 85, walking to shopping and appointments up until she was 98 years old.
Playing bridge was a huge part of Jeanne & Arild’s past times. Jeanne continued to play bridge into her ninety-eighth year. She taught and enjoyed playing many card games with her friends, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When you play your next game of cards, take a moment & think of Jeanne sitting across from you studying her cards.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, James P. and Isabella Moir, husband Arild and eldest daughter Jan Marie.
Jeanne is survived by her sister Audrey Fabri, son Allan (Diane), daughter Kathy Cook (Burton), “Granny” to grandchildren Julie Rubadeau (Devin), James Dalsvaag (Emma), Morgan York (Jamie), Taylor York (Andy), Amber Lowdermilk, Sean Lowdermilk, Vincent Cook, Greg Cook (Emma), great-grandchildren Darcey-Rae York, Ryan Rubadeau, Tyler Rubadeau, Winston Dalsvaag, Oskar Dalsvaag & Lucy-Marie Lowdermilk, Ciarra Cook & Jaden Cook.
