HINDLE: Jennifer Lindesay Hindle (nee Nunneley) passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2012 after a short illness. Born in Scotland and raised in England, Jenny moved to Kelowna on the arm of her loving husband John in 1961; together they set off on grand adventures, including running the Eldorado Arms Hotel, embracing the spirit of the Big Island of Hawaii, and fostering the development of Silver Star Mountain Resort and Lake Louise Ski Area. Her firm belief that the Arts improve the lives of individuals and the well-being of communities drove her to promote music, theatre, dance, and visual arts in the Okanagan throughout her fifty years here. Her boundless energy will be missed by many, especially those with whom she worked on KADAC (now the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan), Central Okanagan Foundation, Friends of Fintry, St. Andrew’s Altar Guild, Kelowna Apple Triathlon, as well as by her crew of tennis cronies. Throughout her life, Jenny’s incredibly capable hands sewed countless outfits and caftans, created fabulous dinner parties, crafted unique jewelry, and fashioned beautiful floral arrangements. She is survived by a madly-loving family, including her brother Charles, sister Phillada, son Dan, daughters Sarah & Joanna, and six grandchildren – Keira, Meghan, Amelia, Ross, Blair & Liam. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, February 3 at 2:00 pm, with a reception to follow. As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made to the Jennifer Hindle Arts Fund at the Central Okanagan Foundation #217 – 1889 Springfield Rd.
