Kay was born in Desjarlais, Alberta. Predeceased by her mother Domnica Semeniuk and father Peter Semeniuk. Her sisters arrived home from school to find that a new baby was added to the family. A wonderful mid-wife woman was present to help. This was the sixth and last child born to the family of all sisters. She fondly remembers her mother making borscht soup and 16 loaves of bread in the outdoor clay/brick oven. Kay loved playing in her sister’s flower garden which was a peaceful play corner for her. She started school at Deep Lake Country School. She often talked about this one summer when her and her sister Helen Rose walked to vacation bible school, which they so enjoyed and this one winter day when Kay was feeding the turkeys, she noticed the largest male turkey was gone! Kay immediately went out into the deep winter snow and found it about half mile away and carried it back to the farm.
In the fall of 1953, Helen (sister) came to the farm and decided to bring Kay and her other sister Rose back to Kamloops, BC to live with them. When attending a skating rink for a skate, Kay met and went on to marry Leo Sepp, a wonderful God loving Christian who built homes and was a superintendent of commercial buildings.
Kay’s son Dyral was born in Kamloops, BC in 1955, and is very talented in auto body, and painting and Excavation/Construction and loved to drag race. Her daughter Darlene was born in Fort St. John, BC in 1959 is in the medical field working at hospitals and Dr Clinics.
As a family, we lived in several places, including New Westminster, Sylvan Lake and Calgary Alberta and finally settled in Kelowna, BC in 1972. We made wonderful memories travelling to Kamloops, Yellowstone Park, California and Hawaii (Oahu and Maui), in 1980 for our parents’ 25th wedding anniversary, and to SDA Camp meetings in Hope BC each summer. Kay spent many hours preparing for her children’s Sabbath School Classes which she taught for many years at the Seventh day Adventist Church in Rutland and volunteered her time for making meals for church functions.
Kay is also predeceased by her loving husband Leo Sepp in 2015, son-in-law Rod McEachern in 2015, and siblings: Mary Hyshka, Dora Hyshka, Sandra Gordey and Helen Kapetz. Kay is survived by her loving children, daughter Darlene McEachern and son Dyral (Janine) Sepp and grandchildren, Tanya (Shane) Lipinski and Ashlee (Matt) Lamontagne; Colton Sepp, Amanda (Jay) Gautam, Tanya (Adam) Fairs and Jesse (Alwina) Birnie and several great grandchildren and her sister, Rose Wasylyshyn.
