Kenneth Arthur Schofield

SCHOFIELD, Ken A. passed away after a long illness on May 24, 2015 at Central Okanagan Hospice House at the age of 45 years. Ken is survived by the love of his life Leigh-Anne (nee Gilbey) for 24 years, the light of his life, his sons Justin and Joshua; his fur babies Tiger and Rosi; his father Don and many friends and family. Ken was predeceased by his mother Katherine Kyle and grandma Florence Owens and brother from another mother Stephen Sinclair. Ken and Leigh-Anne enjoyed their honeymoon in February 1999 at Maui, it was magical! Ken was a medic in the Canadian Forces. He was an avid Nascar fan and a big Jeff Gordon fan. Ken enjoyed Flight Simulator and anything to do with flying. Ken also spent time as a volunteer fire fighter. He always enjoyed helping others, reading, writing and his treasured movie collection. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 1st at Valleyview Funeral Home, 165 Valleyview Road with family friend Tom Matthes officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s name to the Central Okanagan Hospice or the Canadian Liver Foundation would be appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Scheffler for all the years she cared for Ken, the nurses and staff at Hospice, our dear friends and neighbours who helped in so many ways Sophie and family, Melissa, Holly, Caroline, May and Tom, Joanna, Heather, Johanna, Cheryl, Pam and so many others who’s love, support, donations, food and prayers kept our family going and together.
