She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Peter; children Davey (Debbie) and Bryan (Ann); grandchildren Theresa and Joshua, her brother John and several nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Grimsby, southern Ontario, Kitty developed a keen appreciation for the flora and fauna of her environment. She earned a Commerce degree at Queen’s University, where she also met the love of her life, Peter. Their shared sense for adventure took them to living in several remote northern mining communities in early years, and numerous exotic travel destinations later in life. Kitty spent a number of years working as a librarian and was known for her organizational skills. She enjoyed classical music and art, especially paintings. She will be missed by her family and friends at Sun Pointe, Faith Lutheran, the Central Okanagan Naturalists Club, especially the Botany Group.
A Memorial Service will be officiated by Rev. Brian Krushel, Saturday, June 24 at 11am at Faith Lutheran Church, 250 Gibbs Rd. Kelowna, BC (Rutland). In honor of Kitty she would appreciate all to wear something bright. Light lunch to follow in the hall.
