Mary Theresa Grant

May 26, 1930 – April 19, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved “Noni” on April 19, 2019 at the age of 88 years. “Theresa” was born in Windsor, Ontario where she met and married her husband Raymond and gave birth to 5 children. In 1970, Ray’s employment with Hiram Walker and Son’s brought the family West to Kelowna. Mom stayed at home to raise her children until they were grown and then went back to school to pursue her dream of nursing. The oldest in her class, mom graduated at the top and worked as an LPN at Kelowna General Hospital for many years. Her and dad were able to travel extensively before his death in January 1989 and mom continued to live a busy and independent life until recently. Her Sunday dinners were legendary and she also enjoyed painting and hosting “Thirsty Thursday” with her special friends. “Noni” raised us in a home full of warmth and love and taught us the importance of family and heritage. She will be missed…. She is survived by her 5 children; David (Ruth), Timothy (Moirey), Thomas, Robinson (Sue) and Judith (Andy), grandchildren: Nik, Nigel, Rob (Kayla), Ryan, Jessie, Ginger, Brennan (Kelsey) and Lyndsay (Denholm). Great granddaughters; Emily, Olivia, Saije and Violet, brother; Vincent (Mancisa), nephews; Licinio and Romano, nieces; Annarita and Joanne. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond and parents Licinio and Giovanna Curti. The family wishes to extend our gratitude to Dr. Rachel Carver and also the special nurses and care aides who looked after Noni during her short stay at Sun Pointe Village. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2547 Hebert Road, West Kelowna, BC. Reception to follow at the Lakeview Heights Community Hall at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations kindly accepted to the BC Cancer Foundation.
