On April 13, 2026, after living a full, interesting life, Tillie passed away peacefully at a Penticton Seniors Home, in Penticton BC, at the age of 99. Tillie has now started her next journey and will be remembered by many with full hearts and cherished memories.
Tillie was born on a farm near Abbey, Saskatchewan and passed away after a brief illness. Tillie was predeceased by her husband Myron Filyk in 2000 and her brothers Nick, John, Chris, and Ralph and sisters Anne, Emma, and Betty. After graduation, Tillie attended Teachers College and her first teaching appointment was at a country school is Myra Creek, Saskatchewan. Later, Myron's career with the RCAF took them to Germany where they resided for several years and eventually moving back to Ottawa, Ontario where Tillie continued her teaching career until retirement. Myron and Tillie moved to Blind Bay, BC, Shuswap Estates, where Tillie and Myron enjoyed golfing, travelling, and socializing with my friends. After Myron’s passing, Tillie moved to Kelowna, BC, Hawthorne Park in 2001 where she made many close friends. In June of 2024, Tillie moved to the Summerland Seniors Centre and resided there until her passing. Tillie’s sister-in-law's, brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews will cherish her memory with great fondness and love.
