Rino Antonio Fabris

A Celebration of Life for Rino will be held at the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club at 770 Lawrence Avenue, Kelowna, B.C., on Saturday June 10, 2023 at 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Friends and family welcome.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rino Antonio Fabris at the age of 87 in Kelowna, BC.

Rino was born in San Giovanni de Casarsa, Italy in 1935 and came to Canada in 1955. His next chapter of life started in Prince Rupert, BC, where he met his lovely wife of 60 years, Carole. They moved to Prince George, BC in 1965, and relocated in 1987 to Kelowna, BC.

Rino is survived by his wife Carole Evelyn Fabris, daughters Lisa Fabris (David Hawkins), Carla Fabris (David Arndt) and son David Fabris (Celeste).

Rino was blessed with three wonderful grandchildren, Hayden Russell Fabris, Corbin James Fabris, and Ava Elizabeth Arndt. His niece Lora Tomasini (Jenna and Bryce Johnson) and nephew Mark Tomasini. Brother-in-law James Daley (Klara) and niece Larra Daley (Stefan) and nephew Miles Daley (Kirsten) Glen Fabris, Nelly Colussie, and family.

Rino loved his career as a Camp Chef, working in many beautiful areas throughout British Columbia. Throughout his work life he met and created wonderful friendships with his co workers that he cherished over his lifetime.

He had countless hobbies that kept him continuously active and poured his creative, artistic energy into everything he did. From gardening, woodworking, LEGO building, stamp collecting, travelling, biking, winemaking, opera and cooking he left his mark everywhere.

Rino enjoyed the simple things in life. His laughter and storytelling were best shared with a glass of homemade wine, a homecooked meal surrounded by family and friends.

Rino was many things to many people, to most he was a hardworking man with a kind heart.

To us he was the world.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Kelowna General Hospital CCU, Dr Sodhi, Teresa, John, Trent, and Jenna (his guardian angel).
