Thomas Dale Granda

In Loving Memory of Thomas Dale Granda. Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and held so dear. On February 5, 2017 with the love and guidance of his family, Tom gained his wings and departed this life.

Tom is predeceased by his father Thomas Joseph; mother Lorraine; step-parents Carl and Bonnie and brother Shane. He is survived by his wife Susan; daughter Tracey (Mat); grandchildren Darion and Maci; brothers Clifford (Barb) and Terry; sisters Fran (Randy) and a large extended family.

Tom was born in Saint Boniface, Manitoba. He was educated in Thunder Bay, Ontario where he met and married his future wife for life, Susan. They lived for many years in Alberta, welcoming the birth of their only child and finally settled in West Kelowna, British Columbia.

Tom will be remembered for his unselfish, humbling generosity, and his love of laughter. He enjoyed visits with old friends, celebrating with family and watching his family grow. Tom overcame difficult demons and faced life head on. His battle with cancer left him weakened, from which he didn’t regain. He enjoyed spending his last few years quietly at home where his grandchildren lit up his darkest of days. His laugh and smile will live on in our hearts. Cherished, loved and greatly missed…

Sincere thank-you to the staff at Kelowna General Hospital Emergency and Intensive Care Units for the care, respect and dignity given to Tom. Heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Lewke and staff for the years of medical assistance received.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer to honour his life on earth.
