They together had a General Store and a Cotton Gin in Styx. They also had six children and were members of the Styx Church of Christ. Alice was preceded in death by both her parents and all siblings. Thelma, Billy Joe, Pete, James (Snooter), Bob.
They all went to Styx school, but to get a higher education (that was anything over the seventh grade),they had to go to Kemp. The big school was there. The best thing to come of that was that she took up with one of them Morton boys from over in Becker. Clyde and Alice were married on February 28 1958. She married that whole family too. Mr. And Mrs Morton, Mary, Paul, James (Tink), Dovie and Joel were her in-laws. Alice was preceded in death by all except Joel and his wife Ellen.
Clyde and Alice had two beautiful daughters named Diana Kay and Tracie Deane. That’s where I came into the picture. I Married Diana and became part of the family in 1989. We had Collin and Jenna. Tracie and Dodey had Mason, Peyton and Tatum. Mason gave Alice a great grandchild. Her name is Laraine.
Alice has numerous nephews and nieces. Too many to list.
Alice was a hairdresser as a profession but served her community greatly. She was KISD school board member for 12 years and served on the Kemp City council for 13, but the most important thing was she served our Lord and Savior from the time she as, a little girl, was baptized in Mcdougal lake until she got to meet Jesus on Tuesday morning, November 24,2020. We all loved her very much and she will be missed by all.
Loving son in law
