

Ruth was born on July 10, 1936 in Tyler, TX to parents Jewel Otis and Irma Octavia Holbrook and entered into eternal rest on January 3, 2016 at the age of 79. Ruth was known as “Ruthie” by those who knew her best. The most important thing to Ruthie was her family. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, painting and decorating. Ruthie loved dancing and spending time with her dogs. Ruthie graduated from Tyler High School and worked as a clerk in the shipyards for almost 20 years and at Kemp Family Pharmacy for over 10 years. She was a Christian and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kemp and Life Church in Kaufman. Ruthie was a very loving and caring lady who will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved her.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Hunter and daughter Kelly Hunter.
She is survived by her son Henry Hunter and wife Betty of Kemp, daughter Erin Burchard and husband Danny of Kemp, sister Joyce Holbrook of Emory, sister Tracie Holbrook of Emory, grandchildren; Daniel, Wynn, Hollie and Maddie, great-grandchildren Olive and Logan, other loving family members and many more friends.
