I just learned of Mikes passing last night. I went to Kostas, (haven't been in 9 years & we always went there together), Of course I had to stop at Checkers in hopes I may run into my old friend... My heart is broken. You hold so many of my fondest memories of my younger days. You have your hands full up there my friend looking after all us sinners. Love you!

My sincerest condolences to Mike's family. I knew Mike from Coca Cola Field. I am the archivist and curator of the Hall of Fame there. It was always a great night when Mike was in the park. He would stop in and we would talk about the old time baseball and hockey Bisons which were Mike's favorites. I am truly honored and thankful that I got to know him through baseball, we had so much in common. I will think of him every time I'm in the Park now. He was one of those people you couldn't wait to see. May he always be in your hearts.

I knew Mr. Thomas from his visits with little Mikey to Kostas where I worked for many years. 

He was one of those customers that really brightened your day, that you looked forward to seeing and that you felt comfortable sitting at their table and talking with them. He was such a wonderful man, and will truly be missed by myself and the Kostas family.

I'm very sad to hear of the loss of Michael. He was such a nice man. I had the pleasure of waiting on he and his grandson Mikey at Kostas restaurant. He was sharp as a tack and was a true gentleman.

In this guest book there is a message from Dennis Hickey about his dropping into Checkers 2 years ago and being greeted by Mike. I was with Dennis that day and I too had not seen Mike in decades. When I re-introduced myself Mike immediately said "Heck Tony, of course I remember you.  How have you been." Quite a guy...RIP MIke.
