Barbara was an active member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Kennesaw GA, an avid gardener, and a wonderful caregiver for patients with disabilities for many years before retiring. But most of all, she was the sweetest and kindest mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren, loving and generous to all of her family.
She is survived by her children Michael Axley of Kennesaw, GA, David Axley of Acworth, GA and Elaine Axley Bryant, Kevin Bryant (son-in-law) and grandchildren: Westin Bryant and Taylor Bryant of Alpharetta, GA. In addition are her surviving brothers: Bobby Bivens, Elsie Bivens, Jim Bivens and Don Bivens of Loudon, TN, and Howard Bivens of Jacksonville, FL.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
