

Barbara Jinks Ellis was born to James S. Jinks and Evelyn C. Jinks in San Antonio Texas on August 14, 1935. On February 05, 1954, she married the love of her life Robert “Bob” E. Ellis Jr. whom she met in San Antonio, Texas, while Bob was in the Airforce. The two had three children and lived overseas many years in Germany and France due to Bob’s military service. After Bob retired from the Airforce the family moved back to the United States and relocated to Smyrna, Georgia. Barbara took employment with Southern Bell (later Bellsouth) after her youngest son graduated from High School where Barbara worked until her retirement.
After retirement Barbara and Bob enjoyed traveling around the United States, road tripping to many special places and historical sites. She also enjoyed shopping, eating out, baking, being a mother, a granny, and great granny. She will be missed tremendously by her family.
Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert E. Ellis Jr, her Father James S. Jinks, her Mother Evelyn C. Jinks, and her Brother James S. Jinks, Jr. Survivors include; daughter, Jan Baker and her husband, Thom Baker, of Smyrna, Georgia; two sons, Robert "Bob" L. Ellis and his wife, Lisa, of Pennsylvania; and, Jeff Ellis and his wife, Donna, of Smyrna, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Stacy Benson and her husband, Jamie, of Canton, Georgia; Jaime Woods of Arkansas; Christina Silva and her husband, Joe, of Los Angeles, California; Christopher Baker and his wife, Jeanette, of Smyrna, Georgia; Amy Christine Ellis of California; Christi Faulkner of Marietta, Georgia; Julie Chow and her husband, Karl, of Powder Springs; and, Alexander B. Ellis of Seattle, Washington; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Savannah Faulkner, Karson Chow, Victoria Chow, Ansley Bailey, Maxwell Benson, Sawyer Benson, Caleb Johnson, Calailah Woods, Vincent Sharit, Ella Silva, Millie Silva, J.P. Baker, and Zach Baker.
