Barbara M. Smith

With full hearts and fond memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Barbara “Barb” Smith, who passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia. Born on October 27, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, to her beloved parents, Robert & Helen Riley, Barb lived a life defined by deep devotion, joy, and the quiet strength that inspired all who knew her.

Barb had a zest for life and enjoyed the simple pleasures that made her smile—from early morning walks and tennis matches to cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs through wins and losses alike. But her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. Whether it was telling stories, celebrating holidays, or sharing everyday moments, Barb made each memory feel magical.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Tony; son Stephen Smith and his wife Heather; daughter Debbie Ball and her husband Jeff; her brothers; Robert Riley and Ron Riley; sister Joan Wegrzyn; and her treasured grandchildren: Shelby, Addison, Robert and his wife Victoria, and Casey. She is reunited in heaven with her son Paul Anthony Smith, who passed in 2024.

Barb's gentle spirit, quick wit, and boundless love will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the traditions she built, and the love she gave so freely.

The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the Bott family and the Beck family for their kindness, friendship, and unwavering support throughout the years.

May Barb’s memory be a blessing and may we all strive to carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and fierce devotion to family.

A visitation for family and friends to gather will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, between the hours of 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA.
