Betty Hannah Hood

Betty Hannah Hood, age 86, of Kennesaw, Ga. stepped to the gracious throne of Christ on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hood was a member of New Salem Baptist Church where she was active over the years in Sunday School and WMU and volunteered in the nursery and different outreach ministries. She loved her church and being a servant to her precious Lord and Savior. Betty had a passion for many things including gardening, sewing, and birdwatching, taking pleasure in her many bird feeders. Mrs. Hood is preceded in death by her husband, Roy William Hood and her parents Nora and George W. Hannah. She leaves behind her son Dan Hood (Leah) and his children Cale W. Hood (Michelle), Ryan C. Hood (Keeli and their daughter Anniston), William D. Hood (Karis), and Hannah B. Hood. She is also survived by her daughter Pat Nelley (John) and his children John W. Nelley III and Rachel Nelley Parsley (Scott and their daughter Grace). Other survivors include Mrs. Hood’s brothers Ray Ivey Hannah, George Edward Hannah, Joseph Ariail Hannah and sisters Emmie Ellen Christopher and Geanie Mae Cooper as well as many beloved friends and extended family. Funeral services will be held at New Salem Baptist Church in Kennesaw, Ga. at noon on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 9 to noon in the sanctuary.
