Blake Prichard, 37, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 from natural causes. Blake was loved from the moment he came into our lives. Born in Greer, South Carolina, he broke the record in the State of South Carolina when he was born at 14 lbs. 4 oz. Blake’s birth made the local television news station. He was a loving son and younger brother.
Blake was born July 2, 1985, the third child born to Barbara Prichard and first and only child born to Robert (Rick) Prichard. His older brother, Scott and older sister Jill, were excited to welcome a new baby brother into their lives. At 2 years of age, Blake moved with his family from Lyman, South Carolina to Kennesaw, Georgia and lived there the rest of his young life. Blake attended Kennesaw Elementary School, Awtrey Middle School and North Cobb High School where he was in the choir and played the flute in the band.
After graduation, Blake attended and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta. He was a fantastic gourmet cook and loved to share his gift of cooking amazing food with family and friends. He worked at several restaurants over the years. Blake also had a soft spot for animals, especially cats and dogs, with his two best animal friends, Shadow and Midnight (and countless other furry friends). He loved automobiles and guns as well. Blake took pride in having a car with a great stereo system and knew a lot about cars.
Blake worked hard and in his spare time enjoyed watching movies, gaming, cooking and card collecting.
One of his sister’s favorite memories of Blake include taking him to elementary school after he had missed the bus one morning. Her car’s brakes had gone out as they approached the school so she told Blake he would have to jump out of the moving car, which he did. They laughed about that memory over the years. Jill will forever hold the memories of her “Blakie” close to her heart.
One of his brother’s favorite memories is when Blake handled the majority of the cooking one Thanksgiving. He wanted to share his love of gourmet food and show off his cooking skills and made duck for the family dinner. He was very proud and happy about the selection, but the rest of the family wasn’t as excited about the greasy and gamey break-away from Thanksgiving tradition. Scott’s favorite memories of him are just listening to him talk about his passions. He was so knowledgeable and he loved his enthusiasm.
At the time of his death, Blake worked for Adventure Outdoors at the shooting range, helping with events, greeting customers and whatever he could do. He loved his job and the co-workers he worked with and they loved him. His work ethic was second-to-none.
Those who knew and loved Blake and were blessed to have crossed paths with this kind-hearted man, son, brother and friend and we will all cherish his memory for a lifetime.
Blake is survived by his parents Rick and Barbara Prichard; his brother Scott (Amanda) Prichard , Woodstock; his sister Jill (Coby) Hunt; his nieces Daisy Hunt, Charlotte and Emily Prichard, his nephews Ben Hunt and Gabe Prichard; his aunt Susan (Dallas) Renninger, Maryland; his uncle Barry (Diane) Groce, South Carolina; and his uncle Bryan (Cecilia) Groce, South Carolina. Blake is also survived by several cousins.
