

Florine & Henry Thomas, Florine was later married to Glenn Irwin who became Carole’s loving step-father, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in Kennesaw. A Celebration of Life Service will be held to honor Carole on September 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Briarlake Church, 3715 Lavista Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
Carole was a proud member of the Russell High School Class of 1962 and went on to attend Georgia State University. She began her career at C&S Bank and later worked at Equifax and Freeman Long. Carole also found joy in her role working part time at Macy’s in the men’s shoe department, where she happily shared her employee discount with family and friends. Faith and service were at the heart of Carole’s life. She was an active member of Briarlake Church, where she participated faithfully in Sunday school and built lasting friendships. In the 1980s, Carole further demonstrated her dedication to her community as a Georgia State Delegate for the Republican Party.
Carole lived her life with energy and joy. She enjoyed traveling and shopping with her close group of friends, filling her days with laughter and fellowship. In her younger years, she also delighted in playing the piano, sewing, and crocheting, creating beautiful music and handmade treasures for those she loved.
Carole is survived by her sons, Stephen Hines & wife Jenny and Michael Hines & wife Sheila; grandchildren, Lily, Esther, Violet, Ashley, and Melissa. She is preceded in death by her mother Florine, Father Harry, and step-father, Glenn.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Daybreak Village in Kennesaw, GA for the loving care and kindness they showed Carole throughout the years.
Carole will be remembered for her faith, her friendships, and her joyful spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
