Charles loved his country and flag. After 28 years in the military, Charles retired from the United States Army. Charles was outgoing and always fun to be around. He enjoyed fast cars and guns. He was strong in his faith and attended Concord Baptist Church for many years.
Charles was very family oriented and loved his family like no other. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love and many memories to be cherished by those that knew him.
Charles is survived by his sons, Richard Ivie Hood (Chinhui), Michael Anthony Hood (Ashley); daughters, Kasondra Lynn Hood Henry (Tony), Stacie Denise Hood Cochran (Chris); brother, Larry Hood; sisters, Jo Ann Shortt, Elaine Grant; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde Hood and Annie Mae Austin Hood; granddaughter, Kirstie Elizabeth Cochran, two brothers and a sister.
A visitation for Charles will be held Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Kennesaw, Georgia. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 17th, 2022 at 11:00 AM, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA.
