David Russell Spaulding, 89, of Easley, SC, died Monday, August 24, 2015. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 29, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw beginning at 1pm. Burial will follow the service at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.
Born in Rochester, NY on August 1, 1926 to Clyde and Ester Spaulding, David served our country honorably in the US Navy from 1944 – 46 in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He married Lourena Tomlinson on August 20, 1953 and they raised a family of three. Lourena passed in August of 1987, and in 1992 Mr. Spaulding married Phyllis Campbell. He was preceded death also by Phyllis in November 2011. Mr. Spaulding was an Aviation Engineer with Lockheed Martin.
Survivors include his children: Bruce Avery and wife Gail Spaulding, Raymond Ace Spaulding, Sandra Leigh Spaulding, along with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 until service time. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the Latter Day Saints General Missionary Fund.
