Dean Roy Dunaway, age 85, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away on Friday November 23, 2018. Dean was born September 10, 1933. He was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Marietta, where he sang in the choir. Dean was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Janet for sixty one years. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served his country in the US Navy, enjoyed hiking ,camping and going to the mountains. Everyone that knew him loved him.
Dean is survived by his wife, Janet Dunaway; son Robert Dunaway; daughter Cindy Dunaway; daughter Karen Tidd; daughter-in-law Lisa Dunaway; and son-in-law Steve Tidd; Cindy's partner Donna Sutton, granddaughter Jennifer Kilgore, grandsons Matthew Dunaway, Kyle Tidd, Ryan Tidd, great grandson Briggston Dade, great granddaughters, Kathryn Dunaway, Mia Lujan and nieces and nephews
Dean was preceded in death by, his parents Kenneth and Anna Dunaway, brother Kenneth Dunaway, and sister Cornelia Dunaway.
A visitation for Dean will be held Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Pkwy NW, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. He will lie in state Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the church. Funeral service will be Monday, November 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mountain Veiw United Methodist Church, 2300 Jamerson Road, Marietta, GA 30050. Entombment will be Monday, at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dean's memory may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Research.
