

A visitation will be, held 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 4:00 on Saturday January 20, 2024, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home 2950 Cobb Parkway North Kennesaw, GA.
Don graduated high school at the top of his class then set his sights on Georgia Tech, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in 1960 and his Master’s degree in 1962, both in Electrical Engineering. He was also a member of Lambda Chi. During that time he worked as a Co-op Student at Lockheed, was in the ROTC, shortly afterwards served in the US Army.
Don was at Lockheed for 46 years retiring in 2001 in upper management. His tenure at Lockheed Martin was marked by significant contributions including several patents, many published articles, countless completed projects, and mentorship to many young engineers.
In retirement, Don enjoyed life to the fullest, and loved spending it with Doris, his adoring wife of 63 years; they had many adventures together both locally and abroad. He was a local historian working on genealogy and local history for the Smith-Gilbert gardens.
His parents and older brother Roberts Meadows, predeceased Don in death; survivors are his wife Doris Dameron Meadows, his sister-in-law Carolyn Dodgen Meadows, nieces Kelly Stewart, Debbie Casteel, Michelle Metcalf and nephews Allen, Steve, Brant Meadows, many cousins and grand nieces and nephews.,
Don’s legacy is not only in his professional achievements but also in the lives he touched and inspired. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
