Donald Emil Wogelius

Donald E. Wogelius, 62, of Acworth, GA, loving husband of Susan Wogelius, formerly from South Windsor, CT and Chicago, IL passed away January 20, 2015. Donald was born February 24, 1952 in Chicago, IL; son of Vivian (O’Neill) and the late Rudolph Wogelius.

Donald earned a mechanical engineering degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He was an Engineering Fellow for the Glad Manufacturing Company of Clorox Company for many years. He worked on research and development projects located around the country. He was well respected for his technical knowledge and support for Glad. He also developed numerous patents.

Donald found joy in music, reading, home improvement projects, and model trains; however, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Don was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks. Donald is survived by his loving wife of thirty- seven years, Susan Wogelius; son, David Wogelius, his wife Suzanne, and their children Emily and Kyle, of Farmington, CT; daughter, Carolyn Barrows, of Broad Brook, CT; mother, Vivian O’Neill, of Wheeling, IL; sister, Linda Wogelius, of Wheeling, IL; brother, Roy Wogelius and his wife Anna, of Manchester, England; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7PM, Friday, January 23, 2015, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ledbetter officiating A Celebration of Life Service at 7PM. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
