Doreen was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, Gary Jones. Together, they built a loving home and raised their family at their cherished lake house in Tully, New York which is a place filled with warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. After retirement, Gary and Doreen began a new chapter in Georgia and met many new friends and neighbors along the way.
Doreen will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be profoundly missed.
She dedicated many years of service as a 911 dispatcher for the Onondaga County 911 Center. Through her work, she touched countless lives and formed many meaningful and lasting friendships.
Doreen found joy in life’s quiet and simple pleasures. She loved birdwatching, especially bluebirds, and took great pride in tending to her garden. She also loved sitting and chatting with Gary in front of their fishpond with a glass of sweet wine.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her four beautiful grandchildren. She treasured the time they spent together, creating memories through family vacations and everyday moments alike. She also cherished time spent boating with her husband and family, embracing the peace and closeness those days brought.
Doreen is survived by her two daughters, Molly Jirasakhiran (Jason) and Carly Ward (Timothy); her sister, Larissa Foster (David); her four grandchildren, Olivia, Julia, Sullivan, and Finley; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
