Dorothy Taylor Railey, a woman of profound faith, compassion, and resilience, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025. She passed peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness at the age of 84.
Born on May 31, 1941, Dorothy spent her later years as a cherished resident of Acworth, Georgia. She grew up in Manchester, Georgia, as the eldest daughter among five siblings, attending First Presbyterian Church and graduating from Manchester High School.
In 1961, she married Jimmy Ferguson of Talbotton, Georgia, and devoted the next 25 years to nurturing their three daughters: Lisa, Cathy, and Luci. Dorothy found joy in simple pleasures—gardening, sewing, and shopping.
As her daughters established their own lives, Dorothy deepened her commitment to Christ, becoming actively involved at Life Center Ministries in Dunwoody, Ga. For over a decade, she operated her own massage therapy practice, which she saw as divine preparation for her true calling in healing, prophetic prayer, and counseling.
Through her work with Restoring the Foundations, Dorothy traveled the world—including to South Africa—leading seminars, teaching classes, directing prayer ministry teams, authoring training manuals, and mentoring church leaders to become effective counselors.
In 1998, after some matchmaking by his daughter, Dorothy connected with Crawford B. Railey, a widower. He became the love of her life. They married on July 25 of that year. Together, they shared years filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of the extended Railey family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Ferguson and Crawford Railey; her parents, Eugene and Lucille Medders Taylor; and siblings, Marie Taylor and Roy Taylor.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Fry, Cathy Norman, and Luci Brown; stepchildren, Gregory Railey, Brett Railey, Robin Altland, and Penny Railey; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Steve Taylor and Thomas Taylor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Life Center Ministries, 2690 Mt. Vernon Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338, at a later date.
Dorothy's enduring legacy of unwavering faith, selfless love, and spiritual guidance will continue to touch and inspire all whose lives she graced.
