Ernest (Norman) Camp

Ernest (Norman) Camp, age 98 passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. He was born in Kilpatrick, Alabama. Ernest (Norman) is survived by his daughter Cathy C. Smith (Johnny); his grandchildren Beth Jordan, Travis Jordan ( Stephanie), Jessica Camp, Chase Camp, Josie Smith (Chris), and Jody Smith; 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Maverine Watkins Camo and son Joel Alan Camp.

Ernest (Norman) was a man of faith and was a longtime member of Kennesaw First Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon. The church bestowed on him the title of Deacon Emeritus which truly honored him and his devotion. Ernest (Norman) could fix about anything so he would always be tinkering with different projects whether at home or the church. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Ernest (Norman) served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy and was 1950 graduate of Auburn. His working career as a Computer Engineer with Lockheed spanned 35 years and he retired in 1988. For those who had the honor of knowing Ernest (Norman) truly had a friend and his memory will be cherished.

A visitation for Ernest (Norman) will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152, followed by a chapel service at 7:00 pm with Pastor Perry Fowler officiating. Burial will occur Tuesday, February 21, 2023,10:00 am at Pine Ridge Memorial Park, Kennesaw, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ernest's memory may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, choa.org.
