Frederick Curtis Appleman of Kennesaw, GA passed away March 11th, 2025. Fred was born on September 4th, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Clifford and Margaret Appleman. He was brother to the late Willbur Appleman and Lois Appleman.
At an early age, his family moved to Colton, California. He earned an associate degree from San Bernadino Valley Junior College 1946. In 1950 he returned to Akron, Ohio and worked for Goodyear Aerospace Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Akron, where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
Fred was a member of the Lions Club.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife Ellen Margaret Appleman. He is survived by his son, Raymond, and his wife Linda Appleman; daughter, Dana, and her husband Thane Atwood; grandchildren, Evan Atwood and wife Yasmin Wafik Aly, Clifford Appleman and wife Amanda, Sarah Atwood and partner Ben Enos, and Jo Ellen Appleman and partner James “Buddy” Parker; and great-grandchild Thane Atwood.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorials may be to the Alzheimer’s Association “www.alz.org” in memory of Fred’s wife Ellen.
