

Gladys F Walls was born to Herbert and Fannie Link Fussell on May 6, 1923 in Tennessee and passed on April 8, 2026, at the age of 102. She was married to her loving husband Lonnie Thurman for 55 years.
A devout woman of faith, Gladys stayed a member of the Church of Christ Piedmont Road congregation from 1945 onward. She was deeply involved with her church, devoting her time to charitable events hosted by them that involved noble activities such as visiting the sick in hospitals and providing meals for those that are food insecure. Gladys enjoyed engaging with her church’s women’s workshop, in which necessities were made and provided for those in need. Additionally, she enjoyed reading – especially Christian-based novels.
Gladys will always be remembered as an individual dedicated to her faith and community. She was always sociable, loving, and deeply forgiving.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Thurman, her parents Hubert and Fanny Fussell, her brothers Douglas, Arnold, Granville, and Eugene, as well as her sisters Eloise and Lorene. She is survived by her son Mike (Wanda) and her daughters Sherrill (Dan) and Linda Hunt, four grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held for Gladys at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152, US, on April 14, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
