Gloria was born in Baxley GA. She is predeceased by her parents Samuel Hilton and Lily America Altman; her husbands, James Smith and George Young; and her son Joseph Smith. She is survived by her son Jim Smith and his wife Kathy; daughter-in-law Sandy Smith; and six grandchildren: Michael Smith, Matthew Smith, Bryan Smith and his wife Margaret, Kelly Smith, Brian Gainey, his wife Alison and their daughter Olivia Rose, and Casey McGill, her husband Timothy, and their daughter Addison.
Gloria enjoyed her career as a nurse working in the office and operating room for a plastic surgeon. She was involved with the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Kennesaw, GA. She loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs play football. Gloria especially loved traveling the country in an RV with her late husband George and having a vegetable garden.
The family will receive visitors at Shiloh Methodist Church, 3860 Cherokee St. Kennesaw, GA 30144 on Tuesday, September 29 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, September 30th at 11am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joe Smith Daily Bread Food Pantry at the Shiloh Methodist Church, Kennesaw, GA.
