

Isaac Edward Knight III, affectionately known as “Big Ed”, age 60, of Smyrna, GA., passed away Friday April 22, 2016. He was born in Paris, France to the late Isaac Edward Knight, Jr. and Jenny Knight. Ed was a loving brother, son, and a great and loyal friend. He attended Lake Highland Prep School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. During this time he also obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Ed attended the Centre College in Kentucky. While there he played men’s basketball and baseball and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He then went on to receive a Master’s Degree from UGA. Ed was CEO of Knight, Lanier, and Matthews Insurance Company. He was very active in his community by participating in Walk to Emmaus, Tres Diaz, and the Seven Bridges Homeless Ministry. Ed’s favorite saying was “Life is good, God is great, and I’m happy. That’s my motto and I’m sticking to it.” Ed truly had a lasting impact on the lives of many. He will never be forgotten and will be deeply missed.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Isaac Edward Knight Jr. and Jenny Knight.
Ed is survived by his two sisters; Brigitt (Clifford) Berry and Debbie Knight, niece; Jennifer Funaro, and nephew Hudson Berry. Ed is also survived by a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2pm at The Garden 7 Bridges to Recovery Church in Atlanta, GA with Pastor 7 officiating. Family will be receiving friends from1-2pm on Sunday at the church, prior to the service.
