James Porter Morrow

James Porter Morrow, a resident of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on October 1, 1933, James was a hard-working, funny, and loving individual who touched the lives of many around him.

James served his country in the United States Army, where he was honorably discharged. Following his military service, he worked as a machinist for Lockheed Martin until his retirement. His dedication and commitment to his work were evident throughout his career.

James was married to his best friend and the love of his life, Frances Morrow, for over 50 years. Together, they built a loving family and shared countless memories. He cherished family camping trips and summer vacations to Panama City Beach. Recently he celebrated his 92nd birthday surrounded by family at a cabin in Blue Ridge Mountains.

A man of many interests, James was a gun collector who made his own bullets, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and had a passion for metal detecting. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them.

James was also a long-time member of the Masons, contributing to his community and fostering connections with those around him.

He is survived by his daughters, Kaye Letner and Lisa Newton; son, Jeff Morrow; grandchildren, Brie Riley and her husband Jeff, Kyle Newton, Cain Letner and his wife Brittany, and Cody Letner; and great-grandchildren, Flora Riley, Raylan Letner, and Riley Letner. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Morrow; his parents, Porter and Carrie Morrow; his sister, Anne Whitehead; and his son-in-law, Ricky Letner.

A Graveside service will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, located at 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152, on December 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

James Porter Morrow will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and his joyful spirit. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
