Joyce Hines

Joyce Hines, a beloved member of the Marietta, Georgia community, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on December 14, 1941, Joyce was a cherished daughter of the late Claude Landrum and Edna Cunningham Landrum.

Joyce's early education included attending Lakewood Heights and Humphries Elementary Schools, Fulton High School, and the Emory School of Dentistry. She dedicated her professional life to serving as a substitute teacher and dental hygienist.

In June 1959, Joyce married Ben M. Hines III. Together, they raised two children, Benny Hines and Sally Shavor. Joyce was a devoted sister to Gene Landrum, Cathy Black, Judy Teague, and Barbara Honaker. She was a loving grandmother to Leah, Ben, Molly, Christopher, and Connor, and was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family was her everything.

Joyce was a member of the Marietta First United Methodist Church and the Lost Mountain Kiwanis Club. She had a passion for horses, reading, and traveling. Her community involvement was extensive, including roles such as Former President of Mountain Top Boys Home, Former President of United Methodist Women, Former President of Atlanta District United Methodist Women, Officer of The Garden Club, and Member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also participated in the Red Hats, Must Ministries and Swan House in Atlanta.

Her personal qualities and legacy are marked by her love for attending Kiwanis and spending time with her grandchildren. Joyce's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, located at 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia, on February 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA.

Joyce's memory will be cherished by her family and friends, and her contributions to the community will not be forgotten.
