Karl Forest Gretzinger of Marietta, GA passed on Sunday November 5, 2023. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, William Christian Gretzinger, Sr. and Elizabeth Milliken Gretzinger and his brother William Christian Gretzinger, Jr. Karl moved to Georgia in 1972 from PA and purchased a home in 1979. He resided in a West Cobb Community until his passing. He attended William & Mary College in Williamsburg, VA where he majored in accounting.
Karl lived a full life and had the adoration of his good friends and his large circle of acquaintances. Karl traveled the U.S and was an active biker, swimmer, and runner. Notable runs were The Peachtree, which he completed 34 times as well as other events including Mount Washington in New Hampshire and Pikes Peak in Colorado. Karl was a huge UGA football fan, holding season tickets for a number of years.
Known to be steadfast and upstanding to his friends and acquaintances, Karl created an abundant legacy of generosity and friendship to all who knew him. When he was discussed among his friends, each one ended their story about him with “well, That’s Karl”. Karl will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Karl is survived by one niece Donna Rotter from Colorado and a grand niece, Erin Rotter from Utah.
