Mrs. Matchett was born on October 24, 1960 in Atlanta Georgia, the daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy Brookshire Palmer. Kathy had a great love for teaching in the elementary school system having taught in both Cherokee and Bartow school systems. She graduated from Kennesaw College in 1982, following her graduation from Osborne High School in 1978. She went back to Kennesaw College to get her teaching degree in 1994. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Wade B. Matchett and her loving son, Jeff Matchett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Matchett will be conducted on Thursday December 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Chapel. Interment will follow in the Kennesaw Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
