Kim Escoe Watson

Heidelberg, Germany on February 18th, 1964. Since her dad was in the Service, she moved

frequently as a child, living in, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, and

others.

Kim attended Morrow High School, class of 1982. She then attended the University of

Georgia, where she met her husband Jim in Creswell Hall. Jim and Kim married in 1987 in

Cleveland, Georgia.

She started teaching math at Lithia Springs High School in 1986, and attended night school

at Georgia State, earning her Masters in 1990. In 1991 she became a member of the

founding faculty at Harrison High School, where she taught for 29 years, until she retired in

2020. She participated in many activities while at Harrison, including assistant Swim Team

Coach, Math Department Head, Sponsor of the Senior Class, Prom Coordinator, and was

Teacher of the year 2015-2016.

In 1993, she gave birth to her pride and joy, Zack. Kim was beloved by many students,

teachers, family, and friends throughout her entire life, until she took her last breath. She

was disappointed to retire during covid, which derived her of her “moment in the sun.”

Upon retiring from HHS, she taught math part-time at Kennesaw State University.

In October 2023 she was diagnosed with a rare form of Ovarian Cancer. Throughout her life

she found joy in attending Georgia Football Games, Tailgating, Hiking, Reading, Pickleball,

and attending Concerts.

She was preceded in death by her Mother-in-Law Doris, Grandmothers’ Omie and Allie, and

her favorite Aunt Dot. She is survived by her Mother Glynda, Father, Sammy, Sister Terry,

Niece Abby, Nephew Aaron, Father-in-Law Don, Brother-In-Law Matt, Husband Jim, and

Son Zack.

We will be celebrating the life of Kim Watson on October 26th, 2024 at Winkenhofer Pine

Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30AM, and

the Funeral Service will commence at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at Peachtree

Memorial Park 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. Peachtree Corners, Georgia 30092 at 3:00 PM
