Lawrence Miller Wilfert, “Pete” “Pee-Wee”, Grampey to so many of us definitely lived life to the fullest! He had more energy than a five year old, working, planting, painting and loved his scratch offs, whether he won or not. Christmas…the only way to see the best was to see Pete’s. It was inside and out, their home lit up the neighborhood. He loved doing this for his grandkids, he loved his family.
He was the comedian, you never knew what was going to come out of his mouth, but we can guarantee it would make you smile or laugh until you cried.
Our family is lost, confused, hurt, yet we have come together, which is what he always wanted.
Pete loved to go to casinos, work outside, start projects that we never understood, but he had a vision and was determined to do it. Nothing stopped this man, he had a love for life that we all wished we had.
Pete was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 23rd, 1941 to George and Ruth Wilfert. He is preceded in death by his parents and four older brothers. His wife, Norma, who never left his side has spent 62 years with him and loved him like no other. They had four children together. He is also preceded in death by a son, Lawrence “Larry” and a daughter, Pennie, a piece of him went with them. His daughter, Lorelei (Rick) were a huge part of his heart along with his son, Christopher (Kim). His eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren were beyond blessed to have him. His infectious smile and goofy jokes will be embedded in all our hearts forever.
Heaven gained an irreplaceable, amazing man. It will never be the same here, but we all know you are planting a beautiful garden and enjoying your new casino that you never have to leave. We love you, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.
