Mr. Mitchell was a longtime Electrician with I.B.E.W. LOCAL 613 and an avid sportsman who encouraged youth participation in the outdoors. He also coached his children in youth sports for many years. Sonny was 1973 graduate of Osborne High School. He was preceded in death by his son – Jason Mitchell and his parents – Lewis Clayton and JoAnn Mitchell, Sr.
Survivors include his son Brian and wife Susan Mitchell of Newnan, grandchildren – Chase Cobb, Taylor Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Ashlyn Mitchell, and Evelyn Mitchell. His brother Tony Mitchell also survives.
