Luise C. Arthen, age 84, of Brevard, NC, died Saturday, December 3, 2016. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, December8, 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Kennesaw, GA. Burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw. Mrs. Arthen was preceded in death by her son, Paul Gregory Arthen.
Luise was a long-standing parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard, and for a time worked as a real estate appraiser and nursing assistant during the family’s many years as residents of New Jersey. Providing a loving home for her family was always Luise’s first priority. Her hobbies included gardening and bird watching, but being a grandmother was her pride and joy.
Mrs. Arthen is survived by her husband, Frank J. Arthen, and their 65-year marriage was a living testimony to their deep mutual love and devotion. Luise is also survived by her children – Joseph Arthen, David Arthen, Chris Arthen, Vincent Arthen, Peter Arthen, Mary Stolz, and Claire Hornick. Also surviving is her brother Wally Sels, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild due to arrive soon.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, December 7, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw from 7pm until 9pm.
