

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Mark Bailey Jr was born to SFC (Ret.) Mark Bailey Sr. and June Williams Bailey on November 16, 1994, in Landstuhl, Germany. He attended Whittaker Elementary, Orangeburg, SC, Junction City High, Junction City, Kansas, and graduating from Sophie B Wright New Orleans LA. He attended New Hope Baptist Church. After completing one year of college, Mark Jr. followed in his father’s footstep and enlisted in the United States Army on October 7, 2014. He chose the Military Occupation Specialty (88N) ~ Transportation Management Coordinator, a role in which he excelled throughout his career. While stationed at Fort Eustis, Virginia, Mark Jr. met Daisy De Jesus, the love of his life. They married on December 6, 2017, and built a beautiful life together, full of love, laughter, and shared dreams. Committed to both personal and professional growth, Mark Jr earned an Associate of Arts degree from American Military University in 2020 and was close to completing his Bachelor of Science degree. In his free time, he enjoyed playing flag football, traveling, spending time with his best friends, and cherishing moments with his beloved dog, Cooper. He loved singing—but only in private. SFC Mark Bailey Jr. served his country with unwavering dedication and honor until his passing while on active duty. His leadership, courage, and selfless devotion to his fellow soldiers left an indelible mark on those around him. Throughout his distinguished career, he played a pivotal role in mentoring young servicemembers, leading training operations, and ensuring mission success in high-pressure environments. His expertise and dedication contributed to multiple deployments and humanitarian missions, earning him the highest respect from his peers and commanders. His exceptional service and achievements were recognized with numerous military honors, including: the Meritorious Service Medal (1), two Army Commendation Medal, four Army Achievement Medal, four Certificate of Achievement Metal, three Army Good Conduct Medal, and three NCO Professional Development Ribbon. SFC Mark Bailey Jr.’s unwavering service, courage, and leadership left a lasting impact on his unit, his fellow soldiers, and the nation he so faithfully served. His legacy of honor, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered as a warrior, mentor, and hero. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Catherine J. Garner; great-grandparents, William and Bertha Lee Bellinger; grandparents, James and Julia Bellinger Bailey; uncle, James A. Bailey; and aunt, Melissa Bailey. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Daisy; his devoted parents, SFC (Ret.) Mark (Dr. Sabrina) Bailey Sr. and June (CT) Randolph; his cherished grandmother, Docia Williams Booket; his beloved brother, Christopher Randolph; his step-sisters, Kaytrenequa (Richard) McFarland and Jessica Randolph; his step-brothers, Tyrone T. Bligen III, Brian Randolph, and Ramael Randolph; his caring mother-in-law, Josefina Zavala; his sisters-in-law, Melissa Martinez and Vanessa De Jesus; his brother-in-law, David Zavala; and his five nieces and five nephews. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his best friends Chris Follins and Joshua Davis, along with countless others whose lives were touched by his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering spirit. Though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
