

Mary Ann Spinney of Kennesaw Georgia passed away on Sunday, September 1st at the age of 87. She lived in Housatonic Massachusetts until 1979 before moving with her husband, Daniel Spinney to Newnan Georgia and then to Kennesaw in 1984.
She worked at Rich’s Department Store for several years when she moved to Kennesaw before retiring. In her years in Mass she was the secretary to the principal at Stockbridge Elementary School.
Mary Ann raced snow mobiles and has several trophies. She also bowled in a league in Lee Mass and was a member of the Moose club in Newnan GA. She might never remember your name but she knew your birthday and you were guaranteed your favorite baked goodie on that day. Her home was always open to anyone that needed a place to go. She could be seen out dancing on a Friday night and anyone was fair game as a dance partner. She always said the two things she would never give up are dancing and hugs.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Daniel (Chipper) Martin, Larry Martin and Glen Martin and daughter-in-laws, Debra Martin and Pamela Martin.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Daniel Spinney, Sister, Kathie DeLugo, Daughters Jean Marie Peterson, and Julie Martin, Sons, Michael Martin, Jeffrey Martin, and Daniel Spinney Jr. as well as son-in-law Kevin Peterson. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly her 8 cats that were her pride and joy.
The family would like to thank all the friends and loved ones for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends will be invited to attend a celebration of life in the early fall. The details will be forthcoming.
