

A Funeral Service to honor her life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge, with Pastor Warner Worthan & Pastor Bobby Therrell officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Dianne will be interred beside her loving husband immediately following the service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
Dianne was married to her best friend and the love of her life, Jerry “W.J.” Worthan, and together they shared 37 wonderful years until his passing. She worked for 23 years with Cobb County Education before retiring. A lifelong member of Greer’s Chapel Baptist Church, Dianne maintained a strong and personal relationship with God throughout her life.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society, where her joyful spirit and generous heart touched many. Dianne loved gardening—both flowers and vegetables—sewing, cooking, and caring for her family. She enjoyed visiting nurseries, serving others, and was known for her compassionate nature as a caregiver. Strong-willed and determined, she taught her children the value of endurance, faith, and love. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and took great joy in spending time with her beloved dog, Darby, and her cat, Kit Kat.
She is survived by her children; Warner Worthan and wife Jan, David Worthan and wife Melissa, and Wendy Worthan and her fiancé Rodney Tumey; grandchildren Jacob Worthan and wife Hope, Duncan Worthan and wife Annalise, Jessica Watkins and husband Brock, Jennifer Davis and husband Matthew, Mary Collett and husband Josh, Madison Cunningham and fiancé Jacob Clark, John Cunningham and fiancé Nikki Petrow, Brielle Tumey, and Matthew Tumey; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Bob Cottrell and Harold Cottrell; sister-in-law Patsy Worthan; brother-in-law Gary Worthan and wife Martha Carol; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry” W.J.” Worthan, her brother Allen Cottrell, and her parents George and Frances Cottrell.
Dianne will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and her lifelong dedication to family and service.
