

Michael David Ringel was born February 8, 1949, and passed away July 28, 2025. He was born in Binghamton, NY but moved to Atlanta, GA after he was adopted and lived in Kennesaw, GA and Acworth, GA. Mike passed away under the care of hospice at the Brickmont of Acworth after a long battle of cancer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Morris and Betty Ringel, his birth mother; Bertha Kremm of NY. He is survived by his twin daughters; Aimee Ringel Rhodes, husband Doug of Kennesaw, GA and Amanda Ringel Johnson, husband Robert of Collins, GA. He has four grandchildren, Tyler Rhodes, wife Breana of Cartersville, GA, Courtney Johnson of Statesboro, GA, Alex Johnson of Collins, GA, and Bailey Rhodes, Fiancé Seth Kirkpatrick of Kennesaw, GA, and a sister Rachel Thompson. Also, many others he considered as his own.
Mike was very active in the PTA when the girls were in School. Also, he was involved in the Georgia Jaycees since 1970. He has served as a local chapter president a few times and all other positions as well. He has joined the Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corp, Georgia Jaycee Senate, and the Georgia Jaycee Ambassador which made him a triple crown member and had been doing the plagues and trophies for the individual chapters and state for a couple of decades. He was very active and involved with the Camp Dream and was known as “Captain Mike”. He was also a certified BBQ judge and traveled all over the state judging many BBQ contests. Mike was also a very good private investigator.
Mike left an impression everywhere he went and never met a stranger. To know Mike is to love Mike. As he would say “The service to humanity is the best work of life”.
A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152. The funeral service will occur Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge. His committal service will follow the service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
