Born in Cobb County to Miles and Estelle Motes. Mr. Motes worked on his farm on Bells Ferry Road in Cobb County. He owned Motes Electrical. He would teach young people how to work on the farm and electrical business. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He would help others and worked at his church Friendship Baptist Church in Eatonton, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Carter Motes.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, July 8, 2016 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Rev. Phillip Stancil and Milton Wood officiating. Interment at Marietta City Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 till 12 at the funeral home.
