Funeral services are pending at this time. Newton Thomas (Tommy) Williams was born to NT and Juanita Williams, May 20, 1950, in Muroc, California (now simply known now as Edwards Air Force Base). He is survived by Judith, his wife of 25 years. He is also survived by six daughters and one son, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; his mother, Juanita Williams of Kennesaw, GA and his sister, Lena Smith, of Hiram, GA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Williams, in 1989 and his father, NT Williams, in 1992.
Tommy rarely failed to express love and devotion to those around him that he cared for. He was a very loving person, and often was smiling, laughing or trying to help others to do the same. His strong sense of family came through in everything that he did. A more loyal person could not be found. He had a very good sense of humor and was often cutting up and showing others who wished to see it, a different way of looking at life. He didn’t believe in taking things too serious, except his love of God. He was a very spiritual person.
Tommy was an avid baseball fan, and he always rooted for the Atlanta Braves along with his wife, Judith, rarely missing a single game. He also rooted for the Atlanta Falcons during football season. He was also a devoted fan of Richard Petty, and followed Nascar racing with great interest.
Tommy was quite a talented man. He was very talented at playing many instruments, but mostly the guitar and keyboard. He had written thousands of songs and composed many instrumentals. He founded a band called Silverelle, which was fairly successful in the mid 70's and early 80's. He was, in the late 90’s, popular on the internet as The Dreamsharer. He would compose one of a kind music and share it with website holders to play as background music on their sites. He went on to record and offer for purchase CD's of his music that he was fairly successful at for several years. Playing music was one of the things he enjoyed almost daily until he became sick. He was still taking lessons just prior to his death to become a 'better guitar player.' He was still creating music right up until the very end of his life.
Tommy had a degree in Electronics Technology and was extremely good at what he did. He worked for Polycom, Inc. for many years before he was forced to give up his livelihood due to Bladder cancer in 2008. That cancer was subsequently cured, before Leukemia developed this last year. He used to remark all the time about how much it thrilled him to go to work doing what he loved, every day. He was a very blessed person in that way, and he knew it.
We will always miss Tommy, but believe in the promise of the resurrection to a paradise earth mentioned in the prophetic scripture at Revelation 21: 3, 4: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
We look forward with joy to that fulfillment among others and to see Tommy's smiling face and bright, twinkling blue eyes once more.
