Paul Anthony Michael Caruso

Paul A. Caruso, 78, Acworth, Georgia, passed away Friday, November 19th. He was born in Newark and raised in New Providence, NJ. Paul settled in Toms River, NJ where he lived for 35 years. He has since settled in Georgia. Paul attended Seton Hall University and The College of NJ obtaining a Masters Degree+30 in Education and had a fulfilling career as a kindergarten teacher for the Toms River Board of Education. He was known for playing his guitar in the classroom, Paul made a difference in the lives of his students and their families. Paul was also a proud Veteran having served in the Marines. He loved gardening and was always very generous with his harvest. Paul was an avid reader and loved to learn. He enjoyed bowling, karaoke, country line dancing, and playing card games. He was very spiritual and was active in the Catholic Church. He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Lorraine Weinberg-Caruso, and children: Carolyn Faragher, Barnegat; and Kristen McDermott, Brick; Melanie Weinberg (Jared), Toms River, Adam Weinberg, West New York, NJ and Eric Weinberg (Leah), Edison; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grand child, as well as siblings: Muriel Morris (Richie), Acworth, GA, Carole Caruso, Acworth, GA, Billy Caruso (Pamela) SC, Bobby Caruso, FL and many loved nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Eileen. A celebration of life will be held Monday, 11:00-12:00 at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River, NJ with a Catholic burial to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Rd, Toms River.
