We were next door neighbors in Kennesaw and still miss Ralph to this day even though he moved away a few years ago. Such a wonderful couple to have as neighbors. Ralph and Roger would set their lawnmowers to the same height and the front yards were manicured nicely together! In prayer to the family. 

I grew up in maiden Lane first Church of God We started there when I was a toddler and I literally grew up there I have some awesome memories and wouldn’t trade them for the world but I remember when I was nine years old and got baptized by Pastor Hatch . It was our awesome experience I’ll never forget so sorry for your loss your family is in my prayers 

I remember all of them Sundays you was preaching at Maiden Lane Church of God when I went there with my grandma and grandpa you will be sadly missed you was one of the best preachers of all time

I served at Anderson University whenever Ralph was on our board. I remember him as a kind and gentle person. Slow to speak but always having something both good and effective to speak into the process.His long-term and effective service to the church of God will be missed. Blessings peace and love to each member of the family in this loss.

My prayers go out to the Hatch family on the loss of your dad.  Both he and Delores were so kind and compassionate and well loved by so many. I remember the sermon series he preached that brought me to the Lord. May God comfort you during this time.  

Pastor Hatch was the first pastor I remember.  When I think of him, I am reminded of the dignity and authority he carried, in a way that even a young boy could recognize. And yet, he was always so kind. Rest in Peace, Pastor. I hope your mansion is exquisite. 

I'm very sorry for your loss but know that you are comforted by the promise of heaven. Pastor Hatch was deeply admired for his passion to glorify God through his family, his church and the community: I always looked to your family as the example.

I'm sorry to hear of Pastor Hatch's passing. He and Delores were Godly leaders. Prayers and hugs to your family  as you process your loss. I'm excited for him to finally be home with Delores.

To the Hatch Family:
I was sadden but not totally surprised when John called to inform me of my friend’s passing. In recent years as his health declined, it was comforting to know he had the luxury of the best of family care and love.
Also, a flood of happy memories came to mind. A lifetime of shared experiences began at age of 6 where we meet at Busti,NY Youth Camp and continued at Emlenton Camp Meeting, Youth Conventions, and visits to Erie where my grandparents lived and we could “pal around together.” Starting as freshman at AU in 1949 we made the request to be roommates, but do to clerical errors at AU the plan
did not materialize until a few weeks latter we were roommates at Patterson House and several other places in the years to follow as roommates and classmates. We worked together on Wither’s Masonry Crew, hitched to Ky and PA,  studied together, and encouraged each other when either needed a lift to reach our goals of finishing college and seminary. After Veneta and I were married we spent Christmas vacation in Lakeland, FL where my father-in-law was pastor and a vivacious young lady attended church by the name of Delores Schrank who also planned to attend AU in the fall. Our promise to entertain her in our apartment grew to our inviting my buddy, Ralph, for supper the same rainy evening. At the close of the evening I was thinking how to get her safely to her dorm and my valiant friend volunteered and the rest is history: marriage, happy family, and teamwork in ministry. There is one experience I will share that reflects our years together.  Mutual friend, Harold Powell , invited us to speak  at his Jonesboro church one Sunday. Early Sunday morning we left campus and started our walk to Broadway where we would hitchhike to Jonesboro. When we reached the cemetery area Ralph discovered he had forgotten his sermon notes. Retracing our steps, we accomplished our plan and arrived on time. Ralph’s sermon was based on OT text: “Little Foxes Spoil the Vine.”
