Randolph “Randy” Joseph Kienel, Sr., 86, was born on August 24, 1939, in Acworth, Georgia. A lifelong Georgian, Randy lived a life defined by hard work, faith, love for his family, and a gentle sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him.
After graduating from Acworth High School, Randy attended Clemson University, where he proudly played basketball for one year, an experience that reflected his discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit. He went on to build a distinguished career as a master machinist, first honing his skills at 13 years of age alongside his father at Specialty Manufacturing. His dedication, precision, and ingenuity led him to open his own business, Kienel Manufacturing Inc. In his later years, he continued to share his expertise with CNC lathe and mill machines while working as a contractor and for Pittard Machinery and for Meyn America, never losing his passion for problem-solving and craftsmanship.
A hardworking man in every sense, Randy faithfully provided for his family and took great pride in doing so. Known as a “gentle giant,” he loved God with all his heart and lived his faith daily through kindness, humility, and integrity.
Randy was devoted to his wife of 58 years, and his love for her was evident to all. He dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were always at the forefront of his mind—especially when he wasn’t puzzling over some engineering feat that needed to be resolved, as only he could do.
He had a contagious laugh and a gift for humor, often delighting others with clever puns and memorable stories. One could not help but laugh along with him when he got tickled by something, his joy spilling freely into the room.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Mable Kienel; his children, Heidi Keasler, Rex Kienel, Tracy Castleberry, Travis (Chloe) Kienel, and Teresa (Nathan) Pressley; his grandchildren, April (Chris) Gardener, Buddy (Helena) Keasler, Quentin (Ashley) Pressley, Wyatt Castleberry, Conner Pressley, Trace Pressley, and Jacob Gray; and his siblings, Teresa (Bill) Carmichael, Donna (Danny) Colee, Dottie Maxwell, and Gary (Shelley) Kienel, along with cherished great-grandchildren Brooklynn and Piper Gardener, Emilia and Hannah Keasler and Liam Gray.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dot Kienel, and his beloved son, Randy Kienel, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Kennesaw, Georgia. Visitation will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
Randy leaves behind a legacy of faith, dedication, ingenuity, and love—a life well lived, and a man deeply cherished, he will be missed beyond measure and remembered always by those who were blessed to know him.
