Rayburn "Ray" Ernest Goodwin, age 91, of Kennesaw, GA passed awy on Wenesday, May 25, 2022. Ray was born February 16, 1931 to Meda Harper Godwin and Ernest L. Godwin. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Ray loved working outside, whether it was gardening, restoring old cars, or woodworking. He also enjoyed painting. Ray was a self made man who lived a full life and was loved and respected by many. He was an active member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Acworth, GA. and loved his church family.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Ruth Alsup Godwin, his parents, Ernest L. Godwin and Meda Harper Godwin, brother Vernie Ray and sisters; Bernice Mae and Magdalene.
Ray is survived by his son, David Godwin, daughter, Diana Godwin, grandchildren; J. Connor Skehan and C.D. (Chelsea Danielle)Skehan.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be June 14, 2022 from two o'clock in the afternoon until three at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
A Memorial service will follow in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
