Born in Cartersville, Georgia to Harlon and Ada Payne. Mr. Payne worked for Capital Cadillac in Marietta for 44 years as a Service Writer. He has a love of cars and could be found at cars shows from Hooters to Downtown Acworth. He enjoyed running and ran the Peachtree Road Race 14 years in a row. He played golf often with friends and spent time on the lake boating. He was a veteran of the US Army serving with the 2nd Amphibious Division during the Korean War. Proceeded in death by daughter Joan Payne Kirby.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Rev. David Huggins officiating. Interment at Pine Ridge Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6 till 8 pm Tuesday.
